Hometown hero Colton Walker did not disappoint
at X Games in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The Wisconsin resident, who lives just
across the state border now, came back to his birthplace to make his mark.
Colton described the entire event as surreal as he normally drives to Minnesota
to ride for fun, making the commute for X Games is unreal.
Walker
was up against defending Park champion Dennis Enarson, defending Gold in
BMX Park Best Trick Kyle Baldock and Monster Energy riders Kevin Peraza, Mike
Varga and Pat Casey. With steep competition the contest was anyone’s game.
After a few slip ups, but with the hometown
crowd behind him Walker put down on his final run. The ever calm rider pulled
through and put down a run that landed him just off the podium. For his first X
Games appearance, Walker is taking home fourth place with more motivation than
ever to land on the podium next year.
