On paper these results are quite impressive, as is, but when we dive in to the week that was, embellishing we are not, whenever we say that the 2020 rendition of the Monster Energy AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship at Loretta Lynn’s was some of the best racing we have seen take place on the hallowed grounds of Hurricane Mills, Tennessee.
It would be a tall order to list every single standout, but here’s our best attempt at showing some love to a few riders that come to mind.
Firstly two words; LEVI KITCHEN. If you’re unsure who Levi is, go re-watch each and every 250 B Limited and 450 B Limited moto on RacerTV, right now. Seriously, we’ll wait… Kitchen was un-touch-able in his motos, amassing perfect 6 wins in 6 motos for the week, and setting laptimes on par with the Pro Sport classes. Color us impressed. Ryder DiFrancesco, Haiden Deegan, and Jordan Jarvis also put on clinics in the Supermini, Mini Sr, and Womens classes logging perfect scores for the week as well.
In the 250 B and Schoolboy 2 (12-17) B/C divisions we have to give a shout out to Kawasaki Team Green’s Chance Hymas—who took home the championship in Schoolboy 2 (12-17) B/C—as well as Star Yamaha’s Nicholas Romano—who had strong rides all week. These two riders are new to the “big bike” classes, and show promise of being front runners for years to come, as they continue to improve each time they take to the track. Romano’s Star Yamaha Teammate Matthew Leblanc exits the B class ranks with two Loretta Lynn’s titles under his belt this year in the 250 B and 450 B classes. Dang, tired of reading yet? We told you the week was amazing.
In all honesty we could go on for days about our athletes, and we’re so proud of each and every one of them for all of their hard work, and for representing Monster Army on and off of the track in a professional and positive manner. As we look back and reflect on this year’s racing—in a year that has been nothing short of uncertainty—we just want to say thank you once again to all of our riders, their families, and the industry for providing us all a completely stellar week at Loretta Lynn’s Dude Ranch.
As the exit sign reads as you pull out of the ranch, “Y’all come back!” We’ll see you in 2021!
