Lucas Foster How did you get into snowboarding

I got into snowboarding from my parents, they both were snowboarders and I was skiing at a young age, so I naturally just wanted to do whatever they were doing.

What’s your favorite aspect of snowboarding

It’s all amazing but transition riding of any type feels best to me. Pipe, quarter pipes, jumping, all of it.

Favorite person to ride with why?

That’s a hard one, the whole crew on the us team is a great vibe to ride with. Chase Josey, Joey Okesson, chase Blackwell, probably one of them. Chloe Kim too, she’s a beast and pushes all of us.

How do you get motivated to try new tricks?

I think it’s just what keeps everything fun and fresh. Sometimes it’s for contest runs and wanting to add a trick for better results, sometimes it’s just out of pure vision and wanting to bring it to life.

What’s up with all the new tricks

I figured out some new alley oop tricks in 2022 and those transformed into double versions. They’ve been really fun to experiment with. Now, I’m really working hard to add another big new trick for my contest runs, hopefully we see it soon.

What are your proudest moments/ accomplishments in 2024.

My proudest moment from 2024 was for sure getting on the podium at dew tour. It was my first major pro podium and I was up there with Ayumu and yuto, it was a Heavy final and a dream come true for me.

Whats your goals/ next steps for snowboarding

My next biggest goals are to really focus in on the next few contests of 2025, be in a good spot to make the 2026 Olympics, and to just 1 up my contest runs. I’m also super excited for the new snow league series starting this season, I think it’s the future of snowboard competitions.

Have you had to overcome any challenges that made riding an obstacle at times? (i.e. Injuries, support)

I’ve stayed healthy for my career which is a blessing, but I’ve for sure had to navigate some mental struggles throughout being a competitor. Those come naturally, but they’ve taught me to just focus on what I love about snowboarding and that if you’re just focused on what you can control it all works out in the end. Those struggles came after 2022 when I had more success and more eyeballs on me, so I just had to adjust a bit.

What is your daily routine and how do you prepare yourself for a day of riding?

The day starts around 7am, I like to wake up and have some time in the morning. Have some coffee, stretch and get warmed up, I definitely need to warm up a lot more these days with how intense the riding has become. We’ll go ride around 9-10am, spend a few hours in the pipe, cruise some park laps, whatever is good. I try to mix training and some soul shredding in when I can just to keep it light.

Where would you like to see yourself in the next few years?

I’d love to be a 2X Olympian after next winter and to have had another good stretch of big contest results. I see myself for sure competing on the snow league tour for a while and hopefully getting more involved behind the scenes in snowboarding, I’d love to give back and help bring more positive change to the sport.

When I’m not riding you can find me____________________?

Skateboarding!

Who would you like to thank?

My family for sure, the us team for the support over my whole career, all my friends I shred with, obviously monster army for being such a great support system over the years, rest of my sponsors (Salomon, smith, cup noodles, qmile, goat power bikes), and everyone else who’s been apart of the journey. Couldn’t do it without you all!
