Captain Brad Thomas is Athlete of the Week
Great catch up session with BMX rider Brad Thomas!
Check out his Q&A below:
Who influences you and why?
Kris Fox influences my riding. We have completely different styles but one thing he has taught me is just to have fun on your bike and that’s all riding should be about.
What/Who inspired you to ride?
Many of my friends that were older than I am would ride a ramp in their front yard everyday. I loved watching and always wanted to ride with them. So I finally got a bike and started riding. I was never as good as they were back then, but I they started taking me to the skate park and I just fell in love.
What cool and exciting things have you been up to or are going to do in 2013? Any big plans for 2014?
I have been up to many things in 2013. First I went to all west coast recon tours and was happy with how I placed, many great riders turned up. Next, in total, I spend four weeks working here in California and Woodward West and riding all day, everyday. In the off time I have been riding moto here and there as well. As for 2014, I would not be able to say what will happen haha.
Have you had to overcome any challenges that made riding an obstacle at times? (i.e. injuries, support)
Some challenges I have had to overcome are a few injuries, such as broken ankles and a broken foot. Also starting college this year at California State Polytechnic University Pomona has cut down riding time by a ton but every chance I get im at the park for hours on end.
What is your daily routine and how do you get yourself prepared for a day of riding or for the competitions you’re in?
My Daily routine changes quite a bit actually. Normally I get up mid morning, get dressed, and check my bike. After I will call many friends to go ride and go meet up with them someplace.
Where would you like to see yourself in the next two years?
In the next two years there are many places I could be. I would love to be able to travel the world with my bike riding spots all over the planet with friends throughout the BMX community.
