What's up, Carson? How has your 2017 season been?
2017
has been great so far. I’ve had some
good races this year along with some fun ride days. I currently have a tweaked shoulder though,
so I’m working that out and going easy on it.
There’s always something when you ride Dirt bikes! Other than that, things are going great. Dirt bikes around the clock!
Newly Brought on to Team Green this year, How has the transition to the new team been
treating you?
The Kawi guys are awesome! They have been racing at a high level for
years and have worked with all of the best riders. The team has a lot of experience and
information to learn from and use.
Pro-Circuit is right there with them at the races and also help out a bunch. The Team Green deal includes other top level
sponsors too that also know how to win and build the best parts; Monster
Energy, Renthal, Maxima, N-Style, Dunlop, and Acerbis just to name a few. That alone is a huge help because I put a ton
of hours on the bikes…a lot of it in the mud, haha.
Last year’s Mini-Os was your debut race for the
team and You came away with some strong
finishes there. How did all that play out from your perspective?
Yeah, I had only been on the Kawasaki bikes
for a couple of weeks and decided to go for it.
I’d never been to Florida so it was awesome to get to ride there. I won a couple of motos and learned a lot.
Just looking at your Social media, You have a pretty rad backyard track that you
absolutely tear up. Tell us a little
more about it. Looks like a ton of fun!
We live in the Cascade foot hills just
below Mt Rainier. It looks like a wild
life park out here some days! The track
started out as the BBR Motorsports test track for 50s and 110s. Over the years it has grown into a full blown
SuperCross track. I have almost as much
fun running the Bobcat and changing the track up as I do riding! I’m actually building a completely new track
right now. My family and friends joke that I might as well put alligators in
between some of the jumps…there are a few sketchy ones. I’ve had some great
times riding pit bikes on that track with my buddies too.
You recently rode with
Tommy Weeck for motosport.com commercial. You guys were letting those 125s sing! How rad
was that to film?
It was a blast.
MotoSport.com wanted to film some dream bikes (125s) on a dream track,
with some guys holding the bikes wide open.
Our friends, the Corliss’, own the private track we filmed on. They originally planned on building a golf
course on that property but their plans changed and they ended up building that
awesome motocross track. The dirt is
incredible and they mow around it and keep it perfectly groomed. It’s pretty much like riding on Gods personal
golf course. Tommy and I had a blast
flogging the 125s while they filmed us.
There wasn’t much left of the bikes or us by the end of the day. It was awesome.
What does a Typical day in the life of Carson Brown
usually look like?
I
usually spend the first couple of hours in the gym each morning and then I get
on the bike. Rain, snow, heat… I don’t care.
If I had my way, I would ride 5-6 hours a day, which I do quite a bit. Between pit bikes, 125s, Craigslist bikes
(whatever is running that day) and doing my regular 250/450 training motos, I
can rack up the hours. I spend as much
time on the bikes as I can get away with.
I like working on the bikes too.
I pull the motors and suspension and try to do as much of the
maintenance as I can.
AWESOME, Carson!
Thank you and we hope you have a fantastic rest of your season! Any shoutouts
you would like to make?
There have been a lot of families and
friends that have helped me out over the years and still do. My BBR Motorsports family, PMOW and the Frye
Family always have my back. Also the DeVol family, everyone at FLY/WPS, the
Smail family, Motosport Hillsboro and everyone in the NW moto scene. It takes a ton of help and support to race
motocross these days and I have a great team: Kawasaki Team Green, Monster
Energy, ProCircuit, PMOW, BBR, FLY, Motosport Hillsboro, DeVol, Maxima, Dunlop,
Hinson, Renthal, EKS Brand, Cometic, UNI, Motion Pro, Acerbis, ARC, N-Style,
MotoStuff, ProWheel, North West Riders, Panic Rev, 2 Wheel Dyno Works, Mobius,
Washougal MX and Pacific Raceways. Big
thanks to Monster Army for all of their support and great opportunities, like
this interview and being Rider of the Week. Thank You!
