Parker Heath

Check out our Athlete of the Week Parker Heath!

1. Who influences you and why?
I am influenced by many people. My friends and family influence me to try to get me to be the best at anything I do. When I ride I am influenced by great riders such as Dennis Enarson.

2. What made you want to ride?
What made me want to ride was seeing Mat Hoffman at Tony Hawk's Boom Boom Huck Jam. It was the coolest thing I had ever seen and I knew that BMX was for me!

3. What cool and exciting things you been up to or are going to do in 2013?
So far, 2013 has been great as far as riding goes. I recently was picked up by Diamondback Bikes and they are giving me great support. Also, I have been doing well in local competitions and am enjoying how much I have been progressing this year. I have been doing other fun stuff this summer like traveling and experiencing everything that San Diego has to offer. I plan to go to camp at Woodward West and put out some more edits, as well as photos soon.

4. Have you had to overcome any challenges that made riding an obstacle at times? (i.e. injuries, support)
There aren't too many obstacles that come in the way of my riding...a few here and there. During the school year, it can be quite difficult at times to keep up on my schoolwork, as I maintain good GPA, while riding as much as I can. Luckily, I haven't had too many injuries come my way except for getting a pretty good concussion in the end of April. Other than that, I obtain outstanding support from my friends and family as well as my awesome sponsors!

5. What is your daily routine on days you are out riding for hours on end?
My normal routine when I go riding: My friends and I will ride one spot before noon, eat lunch, then go session another spot in the afternoon and ride all day long! I am so grateful that I've grown up riding BMX in San Diego where the scene is so great for Action Sports.
