Round 3 of the 2024 Monster Energy Pro Downhill Series at Snow Summit Resort in Big Bear Lake, California was a Heater! Army athletes were looking great all week in practice and qualifying.
The crowd was wild, the competition was high, and the track conditions were Rough! By the time race day arrived the track had broken down to an intense variety of ruts, sand, Holes, and extreme amounts of dust. A nearly impossible trail to get down at average speeds now needed to be conquered at race pace. Dooley, Pinkerton, Kitchen, and Silva all battled it out for spots on the podium, While Eric Van Leuven Grabbed the P1 spot for Pro Women. Cat 1 15-16 and 17-18 classes were littered with Army athletes as well with an end result of one thing, The Army showed up, and conquered a track many would turn away from.
