The 2017 Toronto X-Jam went
down this past weekend and, fortunately, the freezing Canadian Winter outside
didn't stop red-hot madness from ensuing inside of the Better Living Centre.
Monster Army riders Brian Fox and Eddie Rovi
were in attendance and competed all weekend long against Drew Bezanson, Daniel
Sandoval, Nick Bruce, many more of the best BMX riders in the world.
Rovi, a new addition to the pro class, held his
own in a big way. With moves like tailwhip to barspins on the quarter and
opposite double tailwhips on the box jump, the young rider from New Jersey
earned a much-deserved spot in the finals. The future is bright for this guy!
Brian Fox continued the domination he's been
laying on the BMX world this year and threw down standout trick after standout
trick, including barspin flairs, 1080s, and double backflips. He wrapped up his
final run with an insane double backflip transfer from the spine to the box
jump that left the crowd in a frenzy.
Brian finished in second place behind local boy
Drew Bezanson. After a rough, injury-plagued 2016, he is more than making up
for it in a timely manner. Brian will next compete at Masters of Dirt in
Vienna, Austria next week.
